However, we are aware of the fact that illegal substances are used at festivals despite the risks and consequences that may come with it. Therefore, we are responsible for providing a safe environment for everyone at all times.

To ensure that all participants can enjoy maritim, we are committed to creating a welcoming, safe, supportive and harassment-free environment for all participants, regardless of their gender, age, sexual orientation, gender identity, gender expression, disability, physical appearance, height, race, ethnicity, religion or other identities.

This Code of Conduct outlines the standards for an event to be enjoyed by all visitors without being harassed or feeling unsafe. Everyone, including our staff, volunteers, security, partners, independent contractors and others such as artists, photographers and videographers, is expected to cooperate. The event organisers will ensure that this is respected throughout the event.

maritim expects all its event participants to communicate professionally and constructively, whether in person or virtually, to handle disagreements with courtesy, dignity and openness, to express their opinions respectfully and to be open to other points of view. Similarly, Hangar expects that any information shared about the organisation or participants in an event via public communication channels will be communicated responsibly and clearly between individual opinions and fact.

Suppose a participant, whether physically present or virtually, engages in inappropriate, harassing, abusive or destructive behaviour or language. In that case, our team will determine and enforce the appropriate course of action, such as warnings, expulsion from the event without refund and banning the offender from future maritim events and activities. All participants are expected to abide by these rules and maintain appropriate behaviour in all areas of the event. Violations will be taken very seriously.

Anyone who is a victim or witnesses an assault or inappropriate behaviour is strongly advised to report it right away to a maritim staff member. Do this as well if you are feeling unsafe or not feeling well if you see someone feeling that way. If in doubt, do it anyway.

Staff members are here to help you, not to judge you.

After the event, we strongly recommend you to send your testimony of the incident at feelsafe@thehangar.be – This will help us to understand what happened and to avoid it at our next event.
